چکیده

Background: The non-contact optical methods are preferable in Intra-ocular Lens (IOL) power calculation as they have higher resolution, better patient tolerance and greater acceptability. Aim: to compare between LENSTAR LS900 IOL Master V4 calculation. Material Methods: This prospective comparative study included 60 eyes of 40 cataract patients. Patients with immature any age both genders were while those dense cataract, media opacities, previous ocular diseases or surgeries intraoperative complications excluded. assessed by a complete comprehensive ophthalmic evaluation. Each was evaluated twice, one the other LS900. Outcome measures axial length (AL), vertical keratometric dioptric (K1), horizontal (K2), measurements. Results: mean patients 67.08 ± 5.34 years. Thirty-five males 25 females. master similar (p>0.05) terms AL (24.82 2.21and 24.80 2.20), K1 (43.13 1.66 43.14 1.68), K2 (44.14 1.56 44.27 1.52) (16.86 5.24 16.84 5.26). target refraction on -0.01 0.06 compared 0.04 0.10 LenStar. actual 0.00 0.33. There non-significant differences refractions devices (p>0.05). Conclusion: Both biometers, provide similarly precise biometry

Comparison of IOL--master and ultrasound biometry in preoperative intra ocular lens (IOL) power calculation.

Postoperative refractive outcome largely depends on the accuracy of calculating power of implanted IOL. Lens power calculation can be done by conventional ultrasound biometry and partial coherence laser interferometry (IOL Master). The aim was to compare the accuracy of IOL power calculations using conventional ultrasound biometry and partial coherence laser interferometry.40 eyes were included...

Intra-ocular lens power calculation in patients with high axial myopia before cataract surgery.

PURPOSE To evaluate the accuracy of different formulas used for IOL power calculation in patients with high axial myopia undergoing cataract surgery. METHODS A prospective clinical study was carried out on 53 eyes of 51 patients with an axial length from 25.5 to 31.4 mm including 21 males (41.2%) and 30 females (58.8%). Calculation of the IOL power to be implanted was done by three available ...

Shape optimization of an accommodative intra-ocular lens

Cataract surgery consists in replacing the clouded or opacified crystalline lens by an Intra-Ocular Lens (IOL) having the same mean dioptrical power. Clear vision is then achieved at a given distance and glasses are needed in many situations. A new kind of IOL, potentially accommodative, is proposed. Its design is based on the deep understanding of the accommodation mechanism and on the mathema...

Biometric parameters and intra ocular lens power used for cataract eyes in Karnali, Nepal.

INTRODUCTION The biometric parameters of the eye are measured for the calculation of the intra ocular lens power to be used in cataract surgery. OBJECTIVE To report the keratometry reading, axial length and intra ocular lens power used for eyes operated for cataract in Karnali Zone, Nepal, and to compare these findings with those reported in other similar studies. SUBJECTS AND METHODS The d...
